L. v. Beethoven, “Hoffnung” from Four Arias and a Duet, op. 82, no. 1 (complete)

L. v. Beethoven, Violin Concerto in D Major, op. 61, iii, mm. 273-296. This recording starts just a bit before the printed excerpt, in the violin cadenza. The notated trill in the solo part (E to F#) represents scale degree ^2 (syllable Re) embellished by its upper neighbor note. This is standard for the end of a cadenza: Re is expanded as the melodic note of a prolonged dominant chord. Though the cadenza is not notated, listen to it anyway.
